Spelling Tests: A spelling test will be given every Thursday. Student's will receive their words on Monday so they can study all week.
Reading Vocabulary Tests: Every Friday students take a reading vocabulary test that goes along with the week’s story. Each child is responsible for reading the story every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday night.
Math Tests : Math tests are given at the end of every chapter that we cover in our math book. Quick quizzes are also given frequently.
Grading Policy
Students will be graded in variety of different ways. Students will receive points for completed homework, tests, quizzes, presentations, group work, etc. Each student will be expected to complete, and turn in all assignments. If they do not turn in an assignment within a week of when it is due they will receive a zero for that assignment. If a student is absent, they will have one week from when they return to make up any missed school work. If I find that a student was cheating on a test or assignment they will recieve a zero on the assignment and a note will be sent home or a phone call will be make to inform the parent or guardian.
Absent Students
If your child is absent they will be expected to make up any work that they missed (including homework). All missed work will be sent home in a make up work folder. The folder will need to be returned when all the work is complete. If you know that your child will be out please send in a note and I will be happy to send home the work ahead of time.
If you know your child is going to be out for an extended period of time, please contact me. I will be glad to put together the assignments so that your child can work on them while being out.
Don’t forget that Power School is a valuable tool that allows parents to check student progress throughout the quarter.
